Family Resource Centre

The Family Resource Centre (FRC) provides supports and opportunities to families transitioning out of poverty and homelessness. Families accessing the FRC encounter a warm, friendly and welcoming environment in which children can play safely while their parents work toward stability. A holistic approach allows an important link between the Womens health, prenatal care program and the FRC. The FRC provides:

  • Programming to enhance life and parenting skills
  • Crisis counseling, goal setting, and case management
  • Breakfast, hot lunch and snacks, as well as information on nutrition and healthy diet
  • Basic needs services such as: diapers, formula, clothing and toiletries
  • Referral services for food hampers, clothing, furniture and housing assistance
  • Socialization opportunities for isolated families
employment opportunities through a peer support network

More than 4,000 families have registered in the FRC for help and support. A community is built in the Family Resource Centre that gives hope to each person, every day. It is this hope that paves the pathway to open doors and endless possibility.
