A history of heavy drug use.

A patient came to us from another province with a history of heavy drug use and Hepatitis C. Accessing the Hepatitis C team, they were able to access appropriate treatment and support, and become drug free. After a full course of treatment (48 weeks), the patient is now Hepatitis C free and, with the support of the team, has stayed drug free, become an advocate for harm reduction, kept a full time job and reconciled with family.
