The Outreach Team is a source of hope for people struggling with poverty and homelessness. Outreach is often the first point of contact for people in crisis and needing access to CUPS, a crucial moment in building the relationship of trust that can lead to positive change. The team responds with warmth and compassion providing:
- crisis counselling
- referrals
- home visits
- advocacy and mediation
- emergency transportation
- work apparel
- housing assistance, including financial supports for people transitioning into housing
- basic needs services such as: food hampers, clothing and toiletries
In 2005, the CUPS Outreach Team enhanced their services to include a series of workshops (link) and seminars to help people build the skills necessary to build stability in their lives.
The Outreach Team turns no one away. They provide support to people struggling with addiction, mental illness, homelessness, hunger, prostitution, chronic health concerns and unemployment.
