Each month, Calgary Street Talk is published in dedication of the fight to end poverty and for all people to lead healthy, stable lives. It is an opportunity for vendors to create a community and business of their own, enhancing their skill set and sense of self-esteem. It tells the story of poverty in our city, and it encourages the community to understand and seek to make changes to the world around them.
The Calgary Street Talk program provides:
- Opportunities for socialization and decreased
isolation
- Increased self-esteem
- Life-skills enhancement opportunities
- A voice to raise awareness about poverty and homelessness
Approximately 50 vendors distribute 50,000 copies of Calgary Street Talk each year. Papers are purchased for $.60 per copy and sold by donation throughout the city.
